Deluxe Rooms

the deluxe rooms offer a King bed, air conditioning, wifi access, a safe, bathrobe and slippers, hairdryer as well as a selection of amenities in the ensuite with shower hot and cold water and a terrace with seating.

Superior Rooms

this category of rooms offers a King bed, air conditioning, wifi access, a safe, mini fridge, coffee and tea making, hair dryer, terrace with seating, bathrobes and slippers as well as a selection of amenities in the ensuite with shower and hot and cold water.

Master Bedroom

this spacious room category offers a King bed, a combined living and bedroom area, air conditioning, wifi access, a safe, mini fridge, coffee and tea making, hair dryer, terrace with seating, bathrobes and slippers as well as a selection of amenities in the ensuite which offers a shower and bathtub option with hot and cold water.

Things to do & local tips

The Sacred Temple of the Tooth

The Sacred Temple of the Tooth commonly known as the ‘Sri Dalada Maligawa’ houses the tooth relic of the Buddha. It is considered one of the most important temples in Sri Lanka to Buddhists. It is located 10mins from Taru Villas.

Peradeniya Botanical Gardens

is located 15 minutes away from the property. Also known as the Royal Botanical Gardens was established in 1821. It houses more than 4000 species of plants/trees including some very rare indigenous plants. It is lovely and ideal for a leisurely stroll in the evening.

Udawatte Kele Forest Reserve

also called ‘Uda Wasala Watte’ in Sinhalese (meaning the gardens above the royal palace) is located approximately 10 minutes from the property. Stretching over 250 acres it was designated a forest reserve in 1856 and a sanctuary in 1938. It is home to many species of plants, trees and shrubs as well as many species of endemic birds. Just above the gardens, you find a cave destroyed by a landslide years ago, said to have been inhabited by a Brahmin called ‘Senkanda’ from whose name the city of Kandy derived its original name – Senkandagalapura.

International Buddhist Museum

located 17 minutes from the villa, it is the World's first International Buddhist Museum. It consists of 18 different stalls/areas depicting the transition of Buddhism among 17 countries where Theravada, Mahayana, Thanthrayana and Hinayana Buddhist sects.
