Aditya Resort

Ultra-contemporary Aditya is an all suite hotel designed to pamper and cossett the discerning traveller. Twelve spacious and luxuriously appointed suites enjoy views over the tropical gardens or the beach and are the last word in elegance and comfort. Close to Hikkaduwa's great reef and surf, Aditya is neatly tucked away close to a charming village offering absolute tranquility. The simplicity of the architecture, with lofty, light filled interiors, enhanced by perfectly placed antique furniture and works of art creates an environment which is a joy to encounter. The public areas are gracefully broken up by pillars, archways, lily strewn pools and changes of floor level so although spacious, there are many intimate sitting areas. The generous sized swimming pool and sun bathing terraces encourage the sun worshipper, while the well- equipped gym and yoga room take care of body and soul. An in- suite Spa service brings expert relaxation in total comfort and privacy. Sea bathing is safe for much of the year and the long secluded beach is perfect for strolls and children's play. Beyond the hotel the colourful tropical gardens, with their backdrop of mature trees and palms, are interesting by day and stunning in the evening against a fiery sun- set. A cosmopolitan menu in Aditya's restaurant features dishes both Western and Asian, with a strong emphasis on sea food and the catch of the day. However the adventurous or diet -limited guest may request custom prepared meals. A short journey north takes you to the wonderful coral gardens, surfing and diving (when seas permit) of Hikkaduwa and the arts and crafts centre of Ambalangoda, renowned for its distinctive Devil masks and antiques. Drive south to historic Galle for boutique shopping and sophisticated dining. Aditya prides itself on its level of service and claims to 'arouse the senses, stimulate the intellect and draw the soul into a truly transcendent experience'. Only you can judge the result.

Rooms

Experience beautifully designed suites that combine luxury, comfort, and timeless elegance. Each room is thoughtfully appointed with premium amenities, stylish interiors, and distinctive antique-inspired touches for a memorable stay.

Dining

The first rule is that there are no rules. Guests may dine wherever and whenever they choose. Menus are prepared by Chef but guests are free to make any reasonable request and the staff will do their utmost to please. The Amal Restaurant overlooks the beach, so choose a 'window' seat for dinner and enjoy a dramatic sunset to compliment your meal. A reasonable selection of wines and cocktails is available from the bar. We dined on a wonderful sushi platter and grilled seafood. Dessert was a sharp lemon and ginger panacotta with strawberry and passion fruit coulis and almond flakes. Not surprisingly we didn't have room for lunch but light snacks of prawn and mango salad with sweet chillie sauce and cocounut banana shrimp cerainly tempted the palette. The menu was fairly priced and late risers may enjoy Aditya's Sunrise Brunch on occasion and just head straight for the pool to catch the late sun. There is a good selection of wines at value prices. If you fancy a night out, Hikkaduwa has many coastal eateries, for casual dining, and reggae bars. There are many wonderful, sophisticated fine dining restaurants in Galle's Fort area.
